  4. When an official notice names a client link, download from that link or the verified store/platform page. Do not treat the ended Gray Fog Test client as current access.

As of July 11, 2026: the August 21 China Open Beta announcement confirms the date, but does not publish a complete overseas eligibility or qualification-allocation process. Check the current official notice rather than relying on screenshots, group chats, or resellers.

The Honest Part: Why Most Overseas Players Cannot Join

A phone number alone is not the full requirement. China's game rules require users to register and log in with real, valid identity information, and game services must not serve users who have not completed that registration. The standard China-side route uses a mainland China Resident Identity Card for verification.

The current Lord of Mysteries announcements do not confirm that a foreign passport, overseas phone number, or another document type is accepted for this test. That means a player without a usable China-side number and compatible identity verification should treat the route as unavailable, not as a puzzle to bypass.
