How to Play Lord of Mysteries CN Beta: Requirements & Reality Check

A practical, official-source-first guide for overseas players considering the China-side test and Open Beta.

TL;DR

The China-side route is not a normal international beta signup. Expect a mainland China (+86) mobile number, China-compatible real-name verification, and an official China-side download channel such as TapTap or a publisher announcement. China rules require real, valid identity information for game registration and login.

For most overseas players, the realistic answer is to wait for a separately announced global or regional version. SPARK NEXA already operates an English global site, but China Open Beta on August 21, 2026 does not itself confirm overseas access.

Step by Step: For Players Who Already Meet the Requirements

  1. Use your own mainland China mobile number and your own valid real-name credentials. Do not borrow, rent, or purchase another person's account or identity.
  2. Follow the official Chinese site and the Lord of Mysteries page on TapTap for a current registration or reservation notice.
  3. Apply only through the channel named in that notice. The earlier Gray Fog Test announcement says that qualified players could pre-download, while only players who received access and signed the confidentiality agreement could log in.
  4. When an official notice names a client link, download from that link or the verified store/platform page. Do not treat the ended Gray Fog Test client as current access.

As of July 11, 2026: the August 21 China Open Beta announcement confirms the date, but does not publish a complete overseas eligibility or qualification-allocation process. Check the current official notice rather than relying on screenshots, group chats, or resellers.

The Honest Part: Why Most Overseas Players Cannot Join

A phone number alone is not the full requirement. China's game rules require users to register and log in with real, valid identity information, and game services must not serve users who have not completed that registration. The standard China-side route uses a mainland China Resident Identity Card for verification.

The current Lord of Mysteries announcements do not confirm that a foreign passport, overseas phone number, or another document type is accepted for this test. That means a player without a usable China-side number and compatible identity verification should treat the route as unavailable, not as a puzzle to bypass.

Important safety warning

Do Not Buy a “Verified” Account

Do not buy an already verified account, use SMS-receiving services, rent an account, or pay someone to complete verification. These offers can violate account terms, carry a real ban or recovery risk, are common payment-scam targets, and can expose both parties' personal information. This site does not recommend or link to any of these services.

What to Do Instead

  • Track the release date. China Open Beta is scheduled for August 21, 2026. An earlier App Store China listing showed a November 1, 2026 signal, while global and regional availability still need their own official confirmation.
  • Follow the official English global site and official English social channels for a global signup, region, language, or store announcement.
  • Use the Beta status tracker for dated China-side test updates, and return to it when an official qualification or download notice appears.

FAQ

Do I need a Chinese phone number to play Lord of Mysteries beta?

For the China-side account and download flow, expect to need a mainland China (+86) mobile number. As of July 11, 2026, the current Lord of Mysteries Open Beta announcement does not publish a separate field-by-field overseas eligibility form.

Can I play the CN beta without a China ID?

China's online-game rules require real, valid identity information for registration and login. A mainland China Resident Identity Card is the standard China-side verification route; the game has not published an official alternative for overseas documents, so do not assume a foreign passport can complete the flow.

Is it safe to buy a verified CN account?

No. Buying a verified account can violate platform or game rules, exposes you to payment scams and personal-data risk, and can leave the account unavailable after a verification or ownership check.

When can overseas players play?

China Open Beta is set for August 21, 2026, but that announcement does not confirm overseas access. Follow the release-date tracker and official global channels for a separate global or regional announcement.
